- This is an onsite, hands-on role supporting enterprise data center and network environments; remote or hybrid work is not available.
- Standard work schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with potential flexibility required based on incidents, outages, or project timelines.
- The position focuses on Smart Hands / Smart Eyes support, working closely with remote Level 2 and Level 3 engineering teams to execute physical network and server tasks.
- Candidates must be comfortable working in data centers, network rooms, and hot aisle environments for short durations while following safety protocols.
- Role requires physical activity, including lifting up to 35 lbs, climbing ladders for top-of-rack installations, and standing, walking, kneeling, or crawling as needed.
- Daily responsibilities include rack & stack, cabling (fiber and copper), device labeling, inventory tracking, equipment staging, and e-waste handling.
- Strong documentation discipline is required; all work is tracked through ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems.
- Candidates must demonstrate the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within small onsite teams (3–4 members).
- Professional communication and customer service skills are essential, as the role involves interaction with internal teams, vendors, and visiting technicians.
- Local travel between buildings may be required using personal transportation or on foot.
- This role is ideal for candidates with a background in network operations, data center support, or infrastructure deployment looking to grow within enterprise networking environments.
Required Skills & Experience
- Higher education or a degree preferred or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution or 1-3 years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education.
- 2+ years of experience in racking, stacking, connecting, and providing basic configuration support of networking or server devices
- Ability to withstand working in a hot enclosed environment for short time spans required (i.e., data center hot isles)
- Able to perform work while on a ladder (use of ladders is required for top of rack installations)
- Able to work independently as well as in teams of 3-4 and be flexible.
- Able to lift 35 lbs. solo.
- Willing to travel between buildings using personal car/foot.
- May be required to walk/sit/stand/crawl/kneel for extended periods.
- Excellent customer service skills and written/verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of the Microsoft suite (Outlook, Excel, and Word primarily), Windows 10.
- Able to communicate by telephone, email, or face-to-face.

What You Will Be Doing
Daily Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing first-level Smart Hands support to second-level and third-level support teams.
- On-site team maintaining network environment in support of physical touch (Smart Hands), support of Incident and or Requests.
- Providing Incident support by working with remote Level 2/3 teams to assist in resolving outages fixing issues, including replacement of cabling or hardware components.
- Providing Service Request Support, working with remote Network Support Teams to install hardware or patch cables to enable new services for customers.
- Participating in Hardware Rack & Stack installation of both Network and Server equipment, cable management, and installation of required Fiber and Copper Patch leads, providing console access to the Remote Team for configuration if required, and testing connectivity after installation and configuration.
- Receive Hardware shipments for data center equipment landings.
- Validation Purchase Order accuracy of the Hardware received.
- Unboxing and Recycling of Materials.
- Move Equipment from the dock to the staging areas and or to DC racks.
- Installation or retrofitting of server racks - rail and shelving installation.
- Power and network cable installation and cable management.
- Scanning and Labeling of installed devices (network or server).
- Designate parts identified for spare part stock inventory.
- Proper e-waste handling and disposal.
- Equipment shipping and receiving as needed.
- Provide Escort Service for vendors/techs.
- Work Request Tasks from Service Now ticket system.
