Job Summary:
Your responsibilities encompass customizing, managing, and maintaining VEKA’s technological network. This position works in cooperation with the maintenance department to ensure that all departments of VEKA US facilities have a reliable, secure, and efficient data communications network to provide VEKA’s customers receive an outstanding service.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversees and monitors local area networks, wide area networks, network segments, and other data communication systems as needed to improve performance and ensuring smooth operation
- Responsible for ordering network equipment, including but not limited to firewalls, switches
- Configures, racks, tests network equipment
- Provides regular network maintenance for patching and updates
- Diagnoses and fixes problems or potential problems with the network
- Responsible for any necessary cabling
- All other duties as assigned
Skills
- Good knowledge of networking concepts and troubleshooting
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to understand business objectives
- Team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to work with other IT department members to identify root problems and design solutions to resolve
- Ability to handle multiple priorities through excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Accountability, assertiveness, dependability, and responsiveness are essential.
- Knowledge of network security and design principles
Education
- Associated Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology required
- Experience working with external vendors/suppliers and contractors preferred
