System Administrator | 6-month Contract-to-Hire | Austin, TX

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to own and evolve our Windows and macOS environment. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys architecting systems, solving complex problems, and mentoring others—while keeping security, scalability, and user experience front and center.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the administration, configuration, and optimization of Windows and macOS systems across the organization
- Architect, maintain, and enhance core infrastructure services including Active Directory, Group Policy, identity management, and MDM platforms
- Oversee endpoint management solutions (e.g., Intune, Jamf) to ensure secure, scalable device lifecycle management
- Act as the highest escalation point for complex system issues and advanced troubleshooting
- Implement and maintain monitoring, patching, and automation to improve reliability and operational efficiency
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security groups across hybrid and cloud environments
- Support and administer SharePoint sites, including permissions, site structure, workflows, and integrations (preferred)
- Partner with cross-functional teams to enforce security standards, remediate vulnerabilities, and maintain compliance
- Document system architecture, procedures, and policies; mentor junior team members
- Lead or contribute to infrastructure projects, upgrades, migrations, and strategic initiatives
- Travel to company locations for onsite support as needed
What You Bring
- 7+ years of progressive experience in systems administration with deep expertise in Windows and macOS management
- Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and enterprise administration tools
- Strong experience with macOS management frameworks such as Jamf, Kandji, or Intune
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and hybrid identity environments
- SharePoint administration experience (site management, permissions, workflows) strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls)
- Experience building automation using PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting languages
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to lead complex technical initiatives
- Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating across teams
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft, Jamf, CompTIA, ITIL, etc.) are a plus
