Our established life insurance and retirement association client in Greater Hartford, CT, is seeking a strategic, data-driven Chief Information Officer to lead a 40-person IT division spanning software development, data, infrastructure, security, and operations.
Key priorities include advancing data strategy and governance, modernizing benchmarking and research automation, enhancing learner data insights, supporting an ambitious Salesforce roadmap, optimizing data tools, and strengthening Microsoft-based infrastructure. The organization operates a cloud-first model, builds much of its software in-house, and manages a 250-application portfolio. The CIO will also support tax reporting implementation, Windows and SQL upgrades, collaboration platform transitions, and emerging AI use cases that drive measurable business outcomes.
This leader must operate comfortably at both strategic and hands-on levels, engaging the Board while partnering closely with marketing, finance, HR, research, membership, and product teams. Strong experience in life insurance, retirement, or workplace benefits is required, along with deep Microsoft ecosystem knowledge, financial acumen for budgeting and capital planning, and the ability to lead leaders while mentoring technical talent.
