About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to support mission-critical classified information systems in a secure environment. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, proven operational experience in secured environments, and a strong grasp of federal cybersecurity standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, administer, and sustain accredited classified information systems in compliance with U.S. government security policies and standards.
- Ensure system availability, performance, and security across enterprise server environments, virtual platforms, and associated infrastructure.
- Lead system hardening activities, patch management, and configuration management for classified networks.
- Implement and maintain security controls based on NIST frameworks (including NIST SP 800-53, 800-171, 800-82).
- Collaborate with cybersecurity, compliance, and regulatory teams to support continuous monitoring, audits, and certification & accreditation activities.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues, coordinate with vendors and stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Active DoD TS/SCI or DOE Q security clearance (required at time of hire).
- 7+ years’ experience operating and administering accredited classified information systems in a high-security environment.
- Strong knowledge of NIST cybersecurity standards (especially 800-53, 800-171, 800-82).
- Experience working with U.S. government regulatory agencies and compliance frameworks.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with risk management frameworks (RMF) and continuous monitoring processes.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise server platforms (Windows Server, Linux) and virtualization.
- A background working in Operational Technology envirnoments with knowledge of PLCs and HMIs
- Familiarity with vulnerability assessment and remediation tools.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
