ULTRAMAIN SYSTEMS, INC. ® is looking for a IT System Administrator to join our aviation software development and support team at our headquarters in Albuquerque. This is a full-time position with benefits.
Job Purpose:
The IT System Administrator analyzes, designs, documents, configures, and manages the infrastructure and systems utilized by Ultramain. Ensuring the availability, scalability, monitoring, and security of Ultramain’s cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure and systems. Responsible for the end-to-end management, maintenance, and administration of the IT ecosystem including servers, storage, networking, security, backup and recovery, and applications. Collaborate closely with development, operations, and other teams to align IT infrastructure, systems, and processes with business requirements and goals.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and audit cloud and on-premises infrastructures to ensure operational capacity and stability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in cloud and on-premises environments.
- Provide and maintain an infrastructure environment to support application development and departmental activities.
- Implement and maintain computer hardware and software applications within the IT infrastructure, including, but not limited to, servers, workstations, storage, network, IT security, server virtualization, and accessories.
- Evaluate and recommend system design and configuration to achieve optimized performance.
- Evaluate infrastructure and recommend changes for improvement.
- Develop detailed design and documentation of infrastructure and operational processes.
- Perform capacity planning and recommend infrastructure changes to meet current and future needs.
- Contribute to the development and administration of business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
- Perform system monitoring to proactively avoid issues.
- Perform system testing to ensure that infrastructure and processes are working as expected.
- Resolve infrastructure issues when they occur to ensure the business can continue working.
- Evaluate and analyze technical issues to arrive at resolutions to problems and solutions to challenges.
- Execute technology projects and changes successfully with minimum downtime and user disruption.
- Utilize infrastructure-related scripts to automate and streamline operational activities.
- Checking and troubleshooting computer hardware to ensure functionality.
- Install and troubleshoot network-related equipment such as patch panels, switches, and cabling.
- Administer telephone communications for Ultramain staff including cell, internal, and other phone systems.
- Accurately document policies, procedures, and system configurations.
- Document and maintain software and hardware inventories.
- Audit and meter software licenses.
- Configure and maintain backups of server software, file shares, and databases.
- Perform a recovery of missing or lost data or files as needed.
- Install and maintain database platforms. Create and administer databases used within the organization.
- Maintain network security through Active Directory management, maintenance of network firewalls, and ensuring software and antivirus is properly installed and updated on servers and workstations.
- Provide technical support to Ultramain employees.
- Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work.
- Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule.
- Provides accurate and detailed reports of errors found while using Ultramain software.
- Maintains software product archives, archive documentation, and logs.
- Adhere to the organization’s Information Security Management System (ISMS), complying with the ISO 27001 and other standards. Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support ongoing risk management, incident response, and continuous improvement of IT systems.
Requirements:
- At least 3-5 years of experience in Information Technology.
- Bachelor's degree or higher college degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Has experience managing technical projects.
- Technical understanding of IT hardware and software systems.
- Knowledge of virtual environments including VMs, containers, and public cloud environments.
- Knowledge of security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework and GDPR (data protection).
- Must be available for after-hours and weekend emergency situations or for IT system maintenance/updates.
