Job Title: Junior Systems Administrator
Department: Information Technology
Reports To: General Manager, Technology
Exemption Status (FLSA): Exempt
Job Summary: The Junior Systems Administrator directly reports to the General Manager of Technology and supports the administration, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance of the organization’s technical environment. The role provides hands on support for end user devices, security tools, Microsoft 365, and store level technology, ensuring reliable performance and timely issue resolution.
Essential Functions:
• Manage KnowBe4 instance in conjunction with IT Administrative Assistant
o Coordinate campaigns and both corrective and annual training curriculum.
o Work with GM of Technology and HR staff to manage content in Learning Management System
• Management of DarkTrace tenancy in conjunction with Systems Administrator
• Management of Microsoft 365 tenancy in conjunction with Systems Administrator, focusing on security and compliance modules
• Monitor and remediate local and remote backups using Veeam
Key Responsibilities:
• Support end user device deployment and management
• Serve as escalation point for helpdesk regarding both end user and infrastructure issues
• Travel to sites to troubleshoot and improve store-level technology
• Collaborates with Human Resources throughout the onboarding and offboarding process to ensure timely setup and removal of system access, hardware, and applications for our corporate support team.
Education and Experience:
• Education
o High school diploma or equivalent (required)
o Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field (preferred)
• Preferred Certifications
• VMware VCP
• Microsoft certification paths, including:
o Windows
o Windows Server
o Azure
o Security & Compliance
o Microsoft 365 (M365)
• Cisco CCNA
• HPE / Aruba certification paths
Experience
• Minimum of 3 years of IT experience in one or more of the following roles:
o Infrastructure support
o Tier 1 or Tier 2 Help Desk / Technical Support
o Cloud platform support
Requirements and Qualifications
• Must have a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Knowledge of the following:
o PCs and store back-office hardware
o PDI Desktop Software (preferred)
o Point of sale systems
o Microsoft Office and M365 platform
o MDM Suites, or at least a conceptual understanding
o Virtualization in VMWare or other hypervisor
Required Travel:
• 30% which may include some out-of-town overnight stays
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time while working at a computer
• Ability to drive to store or office locations as required
• Ability to lift and carry IT equipment up to 25 pounds (e.g., computers, monitors, networking gear)
• Ability to bend, reach, and work in confined spaces such as under desks or in server rooms
• Ability to climb and work on ladders
Work Environment:
• Work is performed in a combination of office, retail store, and technical environments
• Noise levels range from typical office background noise to moderate retail activity and equipment related to ambient noise
• May include occasional work in server rooms, back-of-house areas, or data centers
