Systems Administrative to join our team in supporting one of the country’s premier defense research organizations. The team is seeking a talented and motivated IT Systems Administrator. In this role, you will support the administration, development, and optimization of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) environments, CAD/PDM systems, engineering systems and supporting infrastructure in the disciplines of building, testing, deployment and ongoing maintenance. The ideal candidate should have experience with Aras Innovator, Windows Server, virtualization, DevOps tools, networking and IT security practices, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced research environment. This position plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing our mission-critical engineering systems to ensure availability, security, and performance for the companies research and engineering executive team.
Must Have
- Degree Level: Bachelor’s Degree
- 5 years – Application and infrastructure monitoring (system performance, identifying issues, troubleshooting)

Responsibilities:
PLM Systems Administration & Development Support:
- Administer, build, deploy, maintain, and upgrade multiple Aras Innovator environments (Production, QA, UAT, Development).
- Perform environment refreshes, which may include, biweekly after-hours/weekend upgrades, apply patches, and address emergency maintenance needs.
- Troubleshoot integration issues (e.g., Authoring system connectors), performance problems, and licensing issues.
- Collaborate with DEC team, Aras Support, partners, and developers for automated testing, data migration, and deployments.
Infrastructure & DevOps:
- Provision, configure, and optimize Windows Server VMs in coordination with the Enterprise IT Team.
- Monitor and resolve performance, patching, and security agent issues (BigFix, SentinelOne, other tools) with the Enterprise IT Team.
- Maintain software license servers, record configurations, and ensure reproducibility of environments.
CAD/PDM and Engineering System Support:
- Support SolidWorks/PDM add-ins, license renewals, and upgrade planning.
- Troubleshoot ODBC driver issues, certificate expirations, and policy-related interruptions.
Security & Compliance:
- Perform vulnerability remediation in collaboration with Cybersecurity teams.
- Manage certificate lifecycles, alternative control submissions, and system component configuration management and EOL tracking.
- Install and evaluate security agents and tools across systems, diagnosing complex issues as needed.
Required Skills:
- Strong skills in Windows Server and VMware/ESXi provisioning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of SQL Server performance factors and configuration.
- Familiarity with DevOps pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins) and scripting (PowerShell, C#).
- Understanding of IT security practices, including vulnerability management and privileged access management (PAM).
- Strong documentation, communication, and cross-team collaboration skills.
- Ability to develop scripts and automation for environment provisioning, patching, and deployment.
Desired Skills:
- Proven experience administering and upgrading Aras Innovator or other PLM or similar engineering-based software
- Experience supporting CAD/PDM tools such as SolidWorks and associated integrations.
- Knowledge of software licensing technologies (FlexLM) and procurement considerations.
- Experience troubleshooting and rehosting systems in protected/closed environments with security constraints.
- Exposure to XML/JSON configuration file editing and basic application development for troubleshooting tools.
- Preferred certifications: Security+, Windows Server Administration, Linux+, Network+.
Education / Training:
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field; or 5+ years of directly related experience.
