Job Title: Systems Administrator – Azure, Microsoft 365 & Network Security - Washington D.C. - up to $150K
Location: United States (On-site/Hybrid – based on client requirements)
A well-established organization is seeking a seasoned Systems Administrator with 5+ years of experience managing enterprise cloud, network, and security infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a modern Microsoft-focused environment and play a key role in maintaining performance, security, and scalability across critical systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Administer and optimize Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including virtual machines, networking, storage, and identity management
- Manage and support the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID/Azure AD)
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Extreme Networks switching environments
- Administer and support Fortinet firewalls, including VPN configuration, security policies, and threat mitigation
- Monitor system performance, security posture, and capacity planning across cloud and on-prem environments
- Lead patch management, backup strategies, and disaster recovery planning
- Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and cloud transformation initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure and reliable IT operations
- Maintain documentation for infrastructure architecture, policies, and procedures
Required Experience
- 5+ years of experience in systems administration within enterprise environments
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (IaaS, networking, identity, security)
- Proven experience administering Microsoft 365 environments
- Experience managing Extreme Networks switches
- Experience configuring and maintaining Fortinet firewalls
- Solid understanding of network architecture, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPN technologies
- Experience with security best practices, monitoring tools, and compliance standards
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate)
- Fortinet NSE certification
- Experience with automation tools or scripting (PowerShell preferred)
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments
