Experience:
The International Policy Institute is funded by a grant from Carnegie Corporation of New York aimed at improving the transfer of research and expertise between higher education and the policy world in the area of global affairs. We leverage the research and expertise of Jackson School faculty and host a platform for collaboration between the UW, partner universities and international affairs practitioners, including business leaders, international development experts, government officials, and security professionals. This work is completed for the Cybersecurity Initiative, and duties include :
Author articles and conduct research as part of a small team of fellows and faculty with the International Policy Institute.
Review media, news, and academic articles to remain abreast of cybersecurity threats within both the public and private sector.

The University Book Store is a corporate trust governed by an eleven-member board of trustees consisting of University of Washington students, faculty and staff and the Book Store's Chief Executive Officer. The Trustees also serve as Directors of University Book Store, Inc.
As the Vice President of the Board of Trustees, my duties included guiding the strategic direction of the store, and making higher-level decisions on the fiduciary, personnel, and merchandising policies of the corporation. I am also a member of the both the personnel and finance and audit committees of the board.
More detailed responsibilities include :
Overseeing the leadership team based on goals outlined in the strategic plan, as well as setting goals and targets while assessing financial risks and market threats.
Setting a strategic vision with the board and CEO, and when required, chairing board meetings in the absence of the chair.
Develop and approve a fiscal year budget and evaluate performance based on that budget.
Explore sustainable financing options to sell textbooks and merchandise to serve students and nurture the life of the mind
Managed all real estate holdings and assets.

The University Book Store is a corporate trust governed by an eleven-member board of trustees consisting of University of Washington students, faculty and staff and the Book Store's Chief Executive Officer. The Trustees also serve as Directors of University Book Store, Inc.
As a student trustee, my duties included guiding the strategic direction of the store, and making higher-level decisions on the fiduciary, personnel, and merchandising policies of the corporation. I am also a member of the both the personnel and finance and audit committees of the board.

- Worked with writers in 45 minute conferences as a tutor and academic student employee with the College of Arts and Sciences, utilizing a non-directive approach to teach writing and coursework skills.
- Developed interpersonal skills and worked regularly with returning writers to enhance their metacognitive thinking abilities and meet academic goals.
- Participated in professional development workshops to improve skills such as developing rapport, communicating professionally, writing resumes and cover letters, and various other skills.

The Applied Research Project program at the Jackson School enables high-performing students to apply their skills to projects requested by the Jackson School's clients in the public and private sector. The client in this project was International Solutions Group, which developed a report on gender-based violence towards individuals with disabilities for the United Nations Populations Fund (UNFPA). As an applied research fellow, my duties included :
Developed policy briefs included in a 250-page policy report, published at the direction of International Solutions Group for the UNFPA in 2017.
Researched threats present in armed conflicts, examining gender-based violence and government interdiction policies globally.
Drafted memoranda and reports to identify legal, policy, and advocacy-related “best practices” towards violence prevention.
Parsed through and disaggregated data by age, sex, and type of disability to compile demographic information for the report.
Produced memoranda on threats to state progress, such as natural disasters, refugee crises, terror, trafficking, and other causes.
