Experience:
Research, compile, analyze and evaluate the more complex data in order to continuously improve IT systems operations related to IT security practices.
Provide technical security guidance and consultation to the department’s technical staff in the area of network security design, system hardening, software development, risk management and policy compliance by reviewing design documentation.
Make appropriate recommendations with the purpose of securing information systems and stored data from unauthorized access through authentication and access restrictions for data processing systems.
Analyze intelligence reports from internal and external sources and stay abreast of cyber-terrorism threats to the department’s information resources and from activities related to unauthorized intrusion attempts and misuse of system resources.
Perform as an Information Security consultant for risk analysis and assessments of network and mainframe infrastructures, applications and programs, in support of departmental projects.
Conduct risk analysis and assessments of network and mainframe infrastructures, applications and programs, in support of departmental projects.
Work with technical staff with the development of Variance/Exception request. Provide recommendations to the department’s leadership team on what is considered acceptable risk.
Formulate and maintain information security policy for enhanced system security compliance (includes but not limited to networks, servers, workstations, etc).
Implement and manage change management planning to ensure that policy changes/additions are communicated to those impacted.
Support analytical staff in the proper deployment, configuration and refining of tools that include but are not limited to Microsoft ATP, CrowdStrike, Proofpoint, Splunk and Tenable Nessus.
