Lead systems engineer supporting the kbb.com website, including hundreds of servers running Microsoft .NET/SQL stack, Memcached clusters and Akamai CDN with ION Premier, caching, image resizing, security, SiteShield, WAF (Web Application Firewall) and Bot Manager.
Design, build, and maintain IT infrastructure of 1,200+ production and non-production Windows, Red Hat, Fedora and Ubuntu Linux and VMware servers across multiple offices and datacenters using scripts, NetApp RapidDeploy, Red Hat Kickstart and other 3rd party tools. Wrote and edited PowerShell, VBScript, Batch and BASH scripts to automate backups, jobs, install operating systems and applications, manage AD objects, NetApp filers, vSphere and generate reports.
Built out KBB’s first SSO environment using Microsoft ADFS 2.0 and SAML 2.0 in a multi-datacenter and multi-tiered architecture allowing for local redundancy and the ability to shift traffic between datacenters. Onboarded several applications internal to KBB and AutoTrader and external to customers and SaaS vendors using custom SAML assertions.
Lead Linux admin on team. Built, administered and maintained multiple Cloudera and MapR Hadoop clusters in non-production and production environments. Performed initial PoC and had formal training on Apache Hadoop by HortonWorks. Managed multiple Bugzilla instances in LAMP stacks on prod and non-prod servers.
