About
As the World Bank Group (WBG) Chief Information Security Officer, Mr. Lin is responsible for the information security services and capabilities that ensure the protection of the WBG information assets in a manner that supports the WBG's mission to free the world of poverty.
Since joining the World Bank Group, Mr. Lin built the Office of Information Security from the ground up and obtained ISO 27001 certification in 3 years; and the team grew from under 20 people to be over 110. In 2012, he also developed a Next Generation Cyber Security Strategy aimed at protecting critical information, adopting a risk management approach, and transforming information security to become a business enabler supporting Cloud- and Mobility-based initiatives.
Mr. Lin recently refreshed the cybersecurity strategy and named it WBG-SAFER strategy which aims to achieve the following:
- Safeguard information based on business value and risk
- Adapt capabilities to address evolving threats
- Focus on risks that matter
- Equip all user to carry out shared security responsibilities
- Reinforce IT services with the right level of resilience
In addition to his InfoSec duties, Mr. Lin is also in charge of the sourcing and contract management, business continuity, and enterprise architecture.
