• Lead Information Assurance (IA) Engineer for North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Special Operations Headquarters (NSHQ) at SHAPE, Belgium. Team consists of four Cyber Security and IA Engineers.
• Responsible for all supervisory tasks to include writing and conducting bi-annual and annual reviews, promotions, disciplinary actions and interviewing and selection of new hires.
• Managing NSHQ's compliance of the Department of Defense’s implementation of Risk Management Framework (RMF). This includes package creation and assessment utilizing Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).
• Instrumental in managing NSHQ classified and unclassified accreditation packages by managing, creating and tracking team deliverables.
• Responsible for categorization, security control selection, implementation and assessment and all reporting to the Program Management Office (PMO) on the progress of IA inspections.
• Prepares self-assessment of the security posture of the network.
• Support establishes gateway access to closed secure network and unclassified NATO, DOD, and commercial information systems.
• Oversees team monitoring and maintenance of a multi-level, secure automation network required for compartmentalization of classified data. Ensuring a full range of NSHQ services to include mail, file, print, portal, database development, VoIP and Video Teleconferencing are not interrupted.
• Make decisions and initiate actions that involve the interpretation of policy and the setting of precedents when it comes to Cyber Security incidents, assessment and solutions. Make authoritative determinations and advise on technical problems when they arise.
• Communicate with the NSHQ command and the Contracting Officer Representative (COR) daily as to the status of the overall security posture of the network and any resource required to more efficiently accomplish the mission saving the government money and enhancing mission success.
