Manage the engineering team responsible for supporting the technologies in use at each data center. Work with the Project Management Office on new initiatives. The Data Center Modernization Project which has been underway for over 2 years will focus on front office applications getting moved from the current DC to the new DC in the next 18 months.
In addition to the Data Center Technologies Team, I am also responsible for managing the Client & Mobilization engineering team which is tasked with closing out a Windows 7 deployment effort in 2014. A newly designed SCCM architecture will be finalized in 2014 as it supports the management of the Windows 7 systems including image management, patch management and a self-service application portal for the user community.

In the Enterprise Operations group, the Infrastructure Operations Manager is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operations of all systems within the data center and functioning with the enterprise network meeting the business needs.
- Maintaining compliance and operating in accordance with policies and procedures is the primary objective.
- Developing new procedures driven by best practices outlined by the industry and guided by the ITIL framework is an ongoing effort.
- Working with the Service Transition teams to blend in new service offerings to coexist with the current Service Catalog is a constant requirement.

Highlights for 2011 :
Complete the cloud computing initiative by moving the remaining hosted applications out of our hosting environment to virtual hosting centers. Begin efforts in designing the future virtual desktop. Support the business growth in adding more facilities to the portfolio as a result of the reduced operating expenses from the past two years. Implemented wireless and kiosks for 80+% of the environment for running the Point of Care application and positioning the company for supporting the government Electronic Medical Record (2014/2015) mandate.
Highlights for 2010 :
Migrate critical business systems to the cloud. Utilize Exchange and PeopleSoft as services. This SaaS solution will produce a significant ROI over 3 years and will solidify the IS continuity plans for the Infrastructure. Introduce new encryption technology for compliance and reporting. Begin Windows 2008 server and Windows 7 platform testing.
Highlights for 2009 :
I led the engineering effort for changing a national WAN, increasing the speeds 8x fold and netting a 3 month ROI for the purchase of the supporting infrastructure. Brought VMWare's VSphere and VMotion products into environment, virtualizing over 180 servers in a fully redundant architecture with a new hosting center. Led the effort to virtualize a VAX architecture, emulated on a Windows platform. With cutting off 10kw/hr electrical consumption the ROI for the required infrastructure and software purchases was realized in less then 6 months.
