I've been working on increasing my knowledge of all things PCI, and recently acquired my PCIP certification. I've been working for the past year in preparing the company I work for in implementing the data security standard into business best practices. The documentation can be pretty extensive, but I find that streamlining the process/information and having it readily available in the event of an audit and or compromise will minimize asset downtime and maximize company efficiency when it is needed most. Checking a box on a company SAQ isn't enough, there needs to be a business philosophy change, one that emphasizes on data security.
