About
My goals are to increase networking to assist in transitioning from a military career to a private sector career, finish a master's degree in cybersecurity within the next 2 to 3 years, and maintain my professional certifications. My interests are in the following subjects: penetration tester, vulnerability assessor, source code auditor, security software developer, forensics expert, and incident responder.
I have worked in the cybersecurity field for the last 5 years and have worked as a Network Administrator 6 years prior to cybersecurity. Currently, I plan cyber exercises for the Department of Defense. My cybersecurity career began as I transitioned from working as a Network Administrator to teaching a cybersecurity course. During my time as an instructor, I taught topics such as security for Industrial Control Systems and shell scripting in both Windows and Linux. As a network administrator, I worked a lot with the following applications: Active Directory, Microsoft (MS) Exchange Server, Blackberry Enterprise Server, enterprise backup software, operating system folder/file management, MS Security Compliance Manager/System Center Configuration Manager, and vulnerability assessment software. Additionally, I used the Windows command line and created several batch files to assist with administration duties.
