James T. Mobley is an Investor, Strategic Advisor, Cybersecurity Executive, Author, and former CEO. He has a passion for working with, and investing in, innovative technology companies. He is active in his efforts to expand opportunities for underrepresented communities.
James has held broad and influential roles within the technology industry, most recently at Cisco Systems, where as Senior Vice President/GM he led Cisco’s Network Services business unit (NSBU). His team was responsible for defining and accelerating a Network as-a-Service strategy across Cisco’s multi-billion dollar portfolio of network and cloud offerings. His team successfully launched seminal Network as a Service, network visibility and assurance products. Prior to this role, he led teams responsible for Global Cybersecurity services, Product Management for Cisco’s multi-billion dollar Services portfolio, and Global IoT services.
James has a distinguished track record of success in both early stage technology companies and global enterprises. He joined Cisco in January 2015 following its acquisition of Neohapsis, Inc. where he served as President and CEO. Neohapsis was a leading cybersecurity consultancy focused on mobile, cloud, and compliance. Prior to Neohapsis, James was Symantec’s Vice President of Security Services. He joined Symantec in 2004 following its acquisition of @stake, Inc., the leading cybersecurity consulting and products company, where he served as President and CEO.
James's early career journey included a successful rise through a number of the technology industry’s leading companies, where he held key sales, services, and general management positions. He is a graduate of the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas and a former athlete.
