IT Specialist (GS13 Cybersecurity) at 21st Signal Brigade
I was responsible for providing all Tier 1 and Tier 2 IT single point of contact support for all enterprise/regional/local IT systems and applications, such as Remedy, ETMS, Spectrum, and CA Ticketing system, which ultimately affected the plans, goals, and effectiveness of the US ARMY Reserves worldwide. I was personally responsible for defining and maintaining network architecture. I served as a network engineer on a large local system, including responsibility for configuring and optimizing hubs, switches, and routers. Directly monitored network capacity and performance, while responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving network problems such as outages, low drive space and latency. As an US ARMY Reserves G6 I was responsible for installing, testing, re-imaging, upgrading network operating systems software. I was responsible for ensuring the rigorous application of information security / information assurance policies, principles in the delivery of network services. Ensured all network staff is in compliance with DOD 8570 Technical 2 standards. I was responsible for basic password resets, general desktop assistance including, but not limited to, mapping network drives/printers and other general issues deemed to be a First Contact Resolution (FCR) request. I handled inbound communications from external and internal Army personnel, contractors and/or other government agencies in accordance with the National Service Desk Standard Operating Procedures.

Performed duties as lead Network Administrator, consistently meeting or exceeded LAN/WAN goals as directed by the Network Operations Center. Provided supervisory direction to a team of 3 network technicians in daily maintenance and Information Assurance (IA) procedures resulting in zero network failures over the course of the deployment. Responsible for the successful setup of 200 accounts in Microsoft Active Directory. Maintained 100% inventory of over $6,000,000 worth of equipment, and streamlined inventory processes conducted by unit superiors.
