• Worked as the primary security engineer during our data center migration. This was the largest project performed by Operations and Architecture in the 10 years I have been with Caleres. I was responsible for all network security work needed to make this migration successful :
- Retired legacy hardware
- Migrated all firewall policy to new firewalls
- Migrated all VIPs to new hardware
- Took this opportunity to improve and create standards on firewall policy and VIP configurations
- Performed a massive clean-up of orphaned security policy and VIPs which were no longer needed
- Migrated several VPNs to new firewalls
- Assisted the Network and Infrastructure teams with daily activities related to this project

• Designed and deployed a new standard for remote site connectivity using Palo Alto firewalls
• Responsible for the router configuration and implementation of a secure solution for retail’s next generation of pin pads
• Completed the testing and successful roll out of a ZBFW solution for retail stores
• Designed and implemented a DMVPN and VRF configuration for our legacy retail routers
• Performed packet analysis using Wireshark which helped pinpoint the issue causing two separate critical applications to fail

• Engineered a backup configuration for our retail stores using DMVPN and Cisco EEM
• Our stores are able to automatically and seamlessly failover between primary and secondary Internet connections
• Engineered and configured wireless controller redundancy for corporate remote sites
• I took over the management and configuration of our vendor site-to-site VPNs
• Managed our corporate and retail wireless solutions using Aruba Wireless Controllers and AirWave
• I also played a key role in developing and executing a NAC solution in our corporate network.

About
Systems Engineer with 18 years of core networking and security experience. I have a wide range of experiences including running a NOC, providing data and telecommunications to a military brigade, and engineering and designing the network for a large international corporation. The last 9 years have been spent working in a retail environment with a highly engineered network supporting a wide range of network and security technologies. I am proficient with working on A10 and F5 load balancers, Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls, a wide range of Cisco routers and switches, and Aruba technologies including Airwave, Mobility Controllers, and Clearpass. I am also experienced in working with other networking and security tools and monitors including Wireshark, Splunk, and Orion.
I am dedicated to the success of my team and my employer. I am motivated by everyday technical challenges which I can help my co-workers and my employer overcome.
