Wells Fargo
Executive Director, Cybersecurity Architect Senior Manager
• I was the founder, team lead, product owner, and lead cybersecurity architect for the Wells Fargo application threat modeling team. This team of cybersecurity architects analyzed Wells Fargo’s Internet-facing applications, critical applications, and cloud applications (Azure, GCP, Salesforce) to model their architectures, identify threats and mitigations, and collaborates with application teams to apply cybersecurity architecture controls to unmitigated threats. This team was Wells Fargo's first agile security architecture team, the first to pioneer including offshore architects, and the first to include early talent in an architecture role.
• I also lead the cybersecurity architecture team that establishes the enterprise architecture for application security. I put the Sec in DevSecOps.
• I am the process manager for the cybersecurity architecture risk mitigation process.
• I assess the cybersecurity architectures of third party hosted solutions (including cloud hosted applications on AWS, Azure, GCP, and Salesforce), identifying security deficiencies, and collaborating with the relevant third party to resolve any findings.
• I partner with directors and executives in cybersecurity and technology to enhance security controls and capabilities.
• I partner with enterprise architects to ensure security patterns are included in their architectural patterns; and partner with solution architects to ensure that security controls are embedded in their designs.
• I am the cybersecurity architecture SME for the protection of Internet-facing applications.
• I am the cybersecurity architecture SME for Salesforce.
• I review high risk findings from vulnerability testing to help assess residual risk, propose mitigations, or to approve exceptions.
• I assist cybersecurity risk assessors to determine residual risk after security controls are applied.

About
My superpower is being a dad to 7 children with disabilities (including 6 with intellectual and developmental disabilities) through which I have honed the skills of: empathy, determination, perseverance, vigilance, contingency planning, and the ability to bob and weave through chaos, identify the next most important priority, and to deliver upon it. I bring these skills to work where I lead a high performing, agile, globally distributed, diverse team of cybersecurity architects responsible for application security. I approach every workday as go time and I only work in fifth gear.
Metaphorically speaking, I play starting shortstop for the Giants. While I might consider big dollars to play that position for the Yankees, Mets, or Braves, please do not waste both your and my time by asking me if I would consider playing right field for the Carolina Mudcats.
If you are a caregiver of a child with an intellectual or developmental disability, I would love to connect.
