Experience:
I am currently serving as Managing Counsel, General Litigation, Legal Operations, Privacy & Cybersecurity, for ConocoPhillips Company, headquartered in Houston, Texas. In my 12+ years with the company, I have provided legal support on a wide range of legal issues impacting a global upstream oil and gas business. My experience ranges from international arbitration to litigation including in the areas of complex commercial, employment, technology and IP, insurance recovery, tort and mass casualty. Most recently, I have managed teams working on internal and government agency investigations. I also advise on crisis management, emergency response, and legal privilege.
In addition to my litigation experience, I provide advice and guidance on data strategy, digital transformation, generative AI, and privacy and cybersecurity regulation and compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, PIPL and others). I also advise on privacy and computer usage policies, BYOD, data loss prevention (DLP), and data privacy and security provisions in third party agreements. I have served as a Legal Advisor for the company's cybersecurity incident response plan and participate in cyber exercise planning.
I also have a role in leading ConocoPhillips’s Legal Operations team, whose mission is to provide quality legal operations support to the Legal Department with efficient business and technical processes and systems that ensure the excellent delivery of legal services. Focus areas include matter management, legal technology including data analytics and supporting Legal's digital transformation, vendor management, strategic planning, and other core Legal Operations areas.
