I am an information security consultant who provides independent vulnerability and penetration testing, security program reviews, and virtual CISO services. I also develop security content for various vendors and marketing companies and present webinars, perform keynote addresses, and moderate panel discussions. I have over three decades of experience in IT, the majority of which I have dedicated to computer and information security.
I am author/co-author of 12 information security books including the best-selling Hacking For Dummies, Hacking Wireless Networks For Dummies and The Practical Guide to HIPAA Privacy and Security Compliance. I have written 37 whitepapers and over 1,300 articles and guest blog posts on information security. I am a regular contributor of information security content for SearchSecurity.com and related TechTarget sites.
The co-founder of the Technology Association of Georgia's (TAG) Information Security Society, I earned my bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering Technology from Southern College of Technology and my master's degree in Management of Technology from Georgia Tech. I also hold the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification which I obtained in 2001.
