General Responsibilities :
•Privacy counsel to business leaders, product teams, and compliance with U.S. privacy laws (e.g., CCPA/CPRA, VCDPA, etc.)

I have the privilege of developing and teaching a first of its kind seminar (on campus) relating to AI ethics to one of the top public research universities in the country, where I have my students think critically about ethics, how they apply to- and inform- AI regulations today, and what we can possibly expect in the future.

Matthew is an International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP), certified data privacy professional (CIPP/US, CIPM), and senior in-house privacy and product attorney at IBM, with prior experience managing and overseeing IBM's global, enterprise-wide Cybersecurity Policy team, and is a recipient of the 'Best of IBM' award (one of the company's most distinguished honors) for leadership and high performance. He also serves as Adjunct Faculty at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he teaches Data Privacy, Cyber Law, and AI Ethics. He has been quoted in the media, published in globally circulated academic journals, appeared on award-winning privacy podcasts, participates in privacy panels, and educates other fellow attorneys (for continuing legal education credits) in the areas of privacy, security, and AI.
