2004 : 2010
LGS Innovations - Bell Labs
Member of Technical Staff
Participated in the research, development, and implementation of the Internet-Scale Event and Attack Generation Environment (ISEAGE), a test bed Internet for the research, design, evaluation, and testing of security solutions.
With a project team, developed a user expectation policy to ensure a secure networking environment at Iowa State.
Assisted in the creation of the Information Assurance Student Group at Iowa State University.
Collaborated with the ISU Security Task Force and a student group to create and implement a security awareness program.
A critical component of the Scholarship for Service Information Assurance (SFS INFAS) Cyber Corps program at Iowa State University is leadership development. During my two years in the program I received four semesters of intense leadership training, which consisted of both learning about and practicing leadership.
Researched wireless network (802.11) intrusion detection systems and approaches, resulting in the development of a proof-of-concept application capable of detecting MAC address spoofing and a myriad of DoS attacks.
2002 : 2004
Iowa State University
Cyber Corps Research Assistant
Conducted research to aid in an audit of ITD password policies.
Cooperated on the development, compilation, and delivery method of action steps for state employees taken in response to movements in the Homeland Security Advisory System.
Collaborated with team members in the design and development of station (Server, Network, Mainframe, etc) manuals to be used as ITD emergency response guides.
