About
I began my career in security working aboard US Naval nuclear submarines. During the years between my time in the Navy and now, I have delved into multiple facets of technology, including but not limited to Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Systems Operations, Security Operations, Information Security, and Information Security Management.
I have launched and operated a successful and profitable IT consulting company, assisting clients in many sectors but always maintaining a focus on medical practices. My talents, hard skills, and soft skills have allowed me to be able to translate technical specifications into productivity. I also possess the innate ability to translate “tech speak” into plain English. Having earned Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), HealthCare Information Security and Privacy Practitioner (HCISPP) and Security+ certifications, I was actively recruited to teach the coursework preparation classes to help enable other security professionals to achieve those same distinctions. Additionally, I was previously invited to be part of a task force organized by the US Department of Health and Human Services maturing the department’s Health Information Cybersecurity Practices.
The ideal position for me would be one that would allow me to make a significant impact on an organization’s Security and Compliance program, ensuring that those programs meet the defined business goals and objectives. It would also provide the opportunity for me to interact directly with business unit leaders to ensure the company’s safety, security, and profitability.
