Peraton
SETA / Program Manager
Additional consulting engagements with Apogee Integration included :
* Senior Associate / SETA Senior Systems Engineer, National Geospatial Intelligence Agency
* Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA), National Reconnaissance Office
As a senior-level cybersecurity strategist, I collaborate with senior management within federal agency, contributing to programs that secured individuals and organizations within the intelligence community. In fact, I work with the organization to help manage accreditation of vendors to provide services within the agency, including those that come recommended through, a venture capital firm that supports a variety of these providers. Also within this position, I also have a leadership role as deputy program manager for my team, through which I deliver oversight for resource allocation and budgeting.
The cybersecurity leadership I provide is both technical and strategic, and it often requires me to navigate complicated relationships within the organization to develop courses of action that meet the needs and expectations of all participants. In many of these cases, I spearhead the development of strategic documents that guide the ways the organization permits or rejects new vendors and technologies, preventing unnecessary risk to the business while ensuring that the work of relevant parties does progress effectively.
Most of my work is classified, and I hold an active Top Secret clearance. I will say that I collaborate on these secure projects with a variety of customers in the intelligence community, both within the US and abroad.
My areas of interest and expertise include :
* Cybersecurity architecture
* Managing and reducing cybersecurity risk and vulnerabilities
* Business continuity strategy
* Cybersecurity audits and protections
* Cybersecurity program planning and documentation
* Vendor management
2015 : 2020
Apogee Integration, LLC
Cybersecurity Engineer, Other Government Customer (OGC)
The National Reconnaissance Office, which delivers satellite reconnaissance across the globe, requires data protection for downloads of its critical information. My role involved translating hundreds of security requirements into a vetted, step-by-step process for individuals from developers to senior management to follow. I also provided strategy for certification of the product quality system, to assure its ongoing security.
I was invited to this role due to my R&D and enterprise experience, as I regularly advised on the suitability of external technologies for internal security strategy, with respect to the goals of the project, without recommending engagement of any specific vendors (product and service agnostic).
Of note, I was retained on the project throughout the transition of project ownership from Harris to Lockheed Martin.
2014 : 2015
Advanced Programs Group
NRO Senior Cloud Security Architect/Management Consultant
During this time, I worked in systems engineering and architecture to support various intelligence community agencies. My practical expertise spanned a variety of technologies, including VMWare, RedHat, Oracle, and Microsoft tools, and providing expertise in monitoring and auditing. Overall, I explored and vetted unclassified technologies to determine whether they could be safely and securely transferred to the secure side of the organization.
