Primary Function :
The Chief Information Security Officer directs, coordinates, plans, and organizes information security initiatives for the College Board and has direct responsibility for leading the activities of the Security Office in providing information security services to the College Board functional business areas including : keeping abreast of privacy and confidentiality legislation and regulations, developing and maintaining the College Board IT Security Program providing security operations services, maintaining security awareness and training programs, security consulting, and relationship management with security vendors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Oversee work with the College Board business units to evaluate risks to College Board information assets and provide appropriate security controls to mitigate those risks.
Coordinate and direct the management of objectives, goals, policies, standards, security practices, and processes needed to support information security throughout the College Board.
Serve as a liaison for communication of security risks and requirements, large-scale contract issue handling, facilitation on key risks, and support for incident response dealing with information security problems, issues, and concerns.
Work closely with key stakeholders to keep abreast of security related developments.
Advise the College Board on information security aspects of emerging technologies, events, threats, and trends.
Build business-driven justifications for information security.
Create and maintain the College Board’s strategic information security plan including a vision for future information security initiatives in support of the business plan.
Communicate pressing information security vulnerabilities to top management’s attention so that action can be taken.
