• Supervised seven professionals IS staff and managed their priorities.
• Developed and managed IS budgets with focus to provide cost savings, while adding services.
• Managed vendor relationships with Apple, CDWG, DELL, HP, TWC, MCNC, Centurylink, Suddenlink, and several copier service providers.
• Project managed several cost saving initiatives :
o Virtualizing servers (“VMs”) using VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V with VLAN and VTP, with bonded Gigabit Ethernet and plans to deploy 10 Gigabit trunks to host servers.
o Upgrading the campus network equipment for CISCO hardware to Brocade hardware.
o Replacing legacy PBX and deployed a SIP telephony system using Microsoft Lync servers
o Implementing wireless solution across all campuses to support the growing number of mobile devices for Faculty, Staff, and Students.
o Planning for growth, completed 96 Strand Fiber Optic Ring project on Rocky Mount main campus to support 10GB, CATV, and IP based video cameras.
o Technology used : VLAN, VTP, OSPF, RIP, VRRP, MPLS, SIP
• Overseen, the implementation of the college ERP system using Jenzabar EX suite of application to manage student record and the college finances, including JISC student web portal for mass communication and eLearning.
• Updated quarterly reports to the Board of Trustees’ Technology committee and to the Faculty Technology committee. Participated and collaborated with grant writing efforts.

I have worked my whole career in compute and networking technologies, starting as an entry level, Helpdesk technician to a senior level, IT Director. I have experiences as a designer, an engineer, an installer, and a support technician of networks for application servers; such email, file and print, AD active domain, web, UC network based telephony, and database services. For the past 20 years, I have provided best level of customer service possible to elevate the customer technology experience by improving network speed and response time, improving network reliability, and providing administrative documents for DR, disaster recovery and BCP, business continuity planning. I am actively seeking new opportunity to add value to current and emerging technologies.
