About
Mr. Salazar is a highly accomplished cyber leader. He has extensive cyber security technology and business management and operational experience with large corporations supporting government and commercial customers. He provides comprehensive leadership experience in all aspects of business management, new business development, program management, systems engineering, and delivery of complex systems for military and commercial clients. As a senior leader, he maintained responsibility for all facets of program execution, including technical, cost, and schedule performance of large-scale Cyber delivery efforts and ensuring customer satisfaction.
At MITRE, Mr. Salazar directly interfaces with senior government decision makers to advise on the certification of commercial cloud service providers (CSP) data centers. He assists government leaders to define and implement their vision by providing end-to-end technical analysis of the process, systems, and mission performance, and provide technical and strategic advice to support government technology implementation objectives. He develops and delivers applied technology strategies for senior government leaders and component partners. He identifies IT capability investment opportunities to advance the US government mission, supporting certification, authorization, and implementation processes for IT solutions.
Mr. Salazar has been working in the Cybersecurity field for more than 25 years in several roles with increasing responsibility. He has served in a number of roles, as Chief Systems Engineer, Principal Engineer, Lead Architect, and Program Manager for several multimillion-dollar government and commercial programs. He served as DoD Healthcare Management System Modernization (DHMSM) Cybersecurity Manager and managed a portfolio of Cyber programs with customers such as DHS, DISA, DTRA, DIA, JITC, NSA, CYBERCOM, and Combatant Commands.
Mr. Salazar holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and a master’s degree in Systems Engineering Management from George Washington University. Mr. Salazar is also a graduate of the Defense Cyber Investigations Training Academy (DCITA). He holds the following certifications: CISSP, CEH, ISAM-IAM, and PMP.
