Role Overview
The Network Administrator will collaborate with senior IT staff to design, implement, and maintain a secure and high-performing internal network infrastructure. This role involves configuring and supporting network devices, optimizing performance, implementing security measures, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Cisco networking, cloud-based configurations, and advanced security tools.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting
- Provide recommendations for network enhancements and strategic purchases
- Conduct performance and security assessments of internal networks
- Deploy and manage firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption technologies
- Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices
- Develop automated monitoring processes and maintain documentation
- Collaborate with senior network administrators during emergencies or high-priority incidents
- Participate in on-call support rotation for critical issues
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience as a network administrator or network engineer
- Strong knowledge of Cisco network equipment (Nexus and ASR)
- Experience with network resource administration in cloud environments (Azure preferred)
- Advanced knowledge of Palo Alto, Meraki, and Infoblox
- Proficiency in LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, UDP, QoS, BGP, OSPF, and MPLS
- Familiarity with Visio or similar tools for network documentation
- Preferred certifications: CCNP and Azure
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with enterprise-scale network environments
- Familiarity with ITIL-based ticketing and incident management systems
