About The Role
If you're an experienced IT network administrator/leader with experience in modern network security protocols, cloud networking, automation, and enterprise-scale IT operations, you won't want to miss this opportunity to join our growing IT leadership ranks.
The Senior IT Network Administrator will be part of a team responsible for the design, delivery, operations, monitoring, and management of private cloud, wide area, and local area networks (WAN/LAN), with a primary focus on cloud infrastructure and wireless area networks (WLANs) in multi-location environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network operations, security, and standardization, with the ability to ensure reliable and secure network performance across a growing organization. This role is operationally focused and will require hands-on management of network infrastructure, support for office expansions and construction projects, and adherence to IT service management processes.
What You’ll Do
- Design, deploy, and optimize wireless area networks (WLANs) and implement modern security protocols, such as WPA3 and 802.1X.
- Standardize network configurations across multiple office locations, maintaining up-to-date documentation and configuration templates.
- Plan and execute network build-outs for new office locations, coordinating with internal teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Order, manage, document, and manage network circuits from various network carriers and providers, ensuring proper tracking and timely provisioning for new centers.
- Implement and manage network access controls (NAC) and ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, including HIPAA and HITECH.
- Manage network operations using IT service management (ITSM) systems like ServiceNow, following ITIL best practices for incident, change, and problem management.
- Utilize network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, NewRelic, PRTG) to proactively identify and resolve performance issues, minimizing downtime.
- Develop automation scripts and configurations using Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools to streamline network operations.
- Participate in on-call support rotations for network-related incidents.
- Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based network architectures with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure networking services.
- Implement and optimize Azure Virtual Networks (VNet), ExpressRoute, VPN gateways, and cloud-based firewalls.
- Ensure hybrid network connectivity between on-premise infrastructure and cloud environments, optimizing security, scalability, and performance.
- Work with Azure Load Balancers, Application Gateways, and DNS services to enhance network resilience and availability.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in an IT Support, IT Operations, or similar role
- 3-5 years of experience as a Network Administrator or role with similar responsibilities.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate, CCNA, CCNP, Network+, JNCIA, or equivalent are preferred.
- Experience managing and administering highly distributed, multi-location networks using equipment from Cisco, Meraki, Ubiquiti, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or similar manufacturers.
- Experience working in an operational environment managing tickets, alerts, and notifications across multiple tools and systems.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs.
- Proficiency with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools, such as SolarWinds, NewRelic, PRTG, or Wireshark.
- Working knowledge of SDWAN technologies and vendors (e.g., Cato, Zscaler, Aryaka, Fortinet, Cisco, Ubiquiti).
- Experience with network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) and scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to enhance operational efficiency.
