Summary
The Network Administrator will be responsible for deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting network communication systems and rugged field infrastructure across the Midland Basin.
Responsibilities
- Configure and troubleshoot field hardware including radios, PLC’s (basic), radios, cameras and other field devices.
- Conduct site surveys and signal testing to optimize connectivity in remote locations
- Collaborate with IT, field engineers, and third-party vendors to resolve technical issues, perform installs of new equipment with subsequent testing and commissioning
- Document installations, configurations, and maintenance logs
- Collaborate with IT, field engineers, and third-party vendors to resolve technical issues
- Travel regularly to field sites throughout West Texas (company vehicle provided)
Qualifications
- Education requirements (associate’s degree in information technology, Electronics, or related field, or bachelor’s degree in related field)
- 2+ years of experience in mobile infrastructure, field communications, or IT support
- Familiarity with oilfield communication technologies
- Understanding of the interaction between SCADA systems and field networks including radio deployments for point to point communications
- Must have excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and meet short deadlines.
- Willing to work after hours as needed to meet deadlines.
- Continuing development in functional/technical skills
- Adapts well to changes in responsibilities and workloads.
- Good problem solving and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Comfortable in dynamic, start-up environment.
- Experience within Permian Basin is preferred
- Familiar with oilfield terminology and operations
Certifications/Licenses
- Candidates must possess a valid driver’s license with no restrictions that would prohibit driving a company vehicle.
