As a NOC Technician, You Will
As an Operations Technician in the Broadband NOC, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the Broadband network. This role requires evaluating, opening/closing trouble tickets, and coordinating the repair of network equipment and facilities with field operations, technical support, and other work groups. Candidates must be willing to work
any shift because the operations center runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
- Day to Day Responsibilities
- Monitor broadband network alarms and events to identify service-impacting issues in real time.
- Acknowledge and respond promptly to alerts, customer calls, and trouble notifications.
- Create, update, and close trouble tickets with accurate documentation of faults and actions taken.
- Analyze, diagnose, and isolate network issues using EMS/OSS tools and network monitoring systems.
- Coordinate repair activities with field technicians, technical support teams, and off-net providers.
- Follow Methods of Procedure (MOPs) to support maintenance, card swaps, and network restoration tasks.
- Correlate multiple trouble reports to identify common root causes and reduce redundant work.
- Escalate issues to higher-tier teams or vendors based on severity and established guidelines.
- Document network failures, maintenance activities, and resolutions in detail to support root?cause analysis.
- Operate in a 24x7 NOC environment, ensuring smooth shift transitions through effective handoff communication.
The ideal candidate will have: Strong Broadband/DSLAM knowledge, NOC monitoring experience, EMS/OSS proficiency, solid troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work effectively in a 24x7 environment.
- Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Broadband and DSLAM network systems, including topology and configurations
- Experience working in a Network Operations Center (NOC) or similar monitoring environment
- Basic understanding of Ethernet routers, switches, and ATM network equipment
- Proficiency with EMS/OSS tools for monitoring, alarming, provisioning, and inventory management
- Solid foundation in telecom concepts, network architecture, and troubleshooting procedures
- Ability to analyze, isolate, and resolve network issues efficiently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross?team collaboration
- Capability to follow technical MOPs (Methods of Procedure) accurately
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a 24x7 operations environment
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts as needed
- Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a broadband or telecom-focused NOC environment
- Familiarity with advanced troubleshooting of DSLAM, Ethernet, and ATM network equipment
- Hands-on experience using network diagnostic tools and advanced EMS/OSS platforms
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or telecom?specific credentials
- Prior experience as a technical support analyst or specialist
- Knowledge of root?cause analysis (RCA) processes and documentation
- Proven track record of operational excellence or customer service recognition
- Ability to manage multiple incidents simultaneously in a high?pressure environment
- Experience coordinating with field operations teams during network maintenance activities
- Strong presentation or reporting skills for communicating technical issues to management

Pay Range And Benefits
Pay Range*:$25 - $30 per hour
- Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
