Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to perform advanced systems administration for enterprise servers, workstations, and mobile device environments. This role supports both on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure and serves as a Tier III escalation point for system-related issues.
The ideal candidate is highly self-directed, works with minimal supervision, and approaches all work with a strong security-first mindset.
Key Responsibilities
• Administer and support enterprise servers, workstations, and mobile devices across on-premises, remote, and cloud environments
• Recommend, test, implement, monitor, and maintain system hardware, software, and services
• Support and manage physical and virtual servers in a Hyper-V enterprise environment
• Administer core infrastructure services including:
o Active Directory (AD) and Azure Active Directory
o DNS, DHCP, File and Print Services
o Exchange Online and Microsoft 365
• Serve as Tier III support for server and workstation-related issues
• Automate routine and repetitive administrative tasks using scripting
• Support endpoint and cloud security solutions
• Coordinate with vendors and external support partners as needed
• Ensure all systems meet organizational security and compliance standards
Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years administering Microsoft servers, including web and SQL servers, using Windows Server 2016 and 2019 in a Hyper-V enterprise environment
• 3+ years managing identity services in Active Directory and Azure Active Directory
• 3+ years administering Microsoft 365 / Office 365 in an enterprise environment
• 2+ years automating administrative tasks using advanced scripting (PowerShell, Python, Perl, or VBScript)
• 1+ year working with Microsoft cloud-based security solutions (Azure and/or Intune)
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with vendor-provided technical support
• Experience in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities
• Experience with SQL Server, including database migrations, upgrades, monitoring, and performance tuning
• Experience managing endpoints using SCCM and/or Intune
• Experience supporting and maintaining modern SAN storage solutions.
