MANTECH seeks a motivated, practice, creative, career and customer-oriented Chief Information Officer to join our team in Herndon, VA. Reporting to the EVP, Chief Performance Officer, the CIO will serve as a transformational leader overseeing the IT organization's pivotal transition year 2026 and aligning its mission to deliver strategic business outcomes.
This individual will focus Enterprise IT operations, drive initiatives such as the implementation of a new ERP no-fail priority, and develop integrated strategies, governance structures, and enterprise alignment to maximize IT performance and business impact.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Strategic Vision: Oversee "IT Vision 2026," translating high-level organizational goals into a multi-year roadmap with clear milestones and measurable outcomes.
- Operational Governance: Implement robust project prioritization and executive accountability to balance day-to-day operations ("Run") with strategic transformation ("Change").
- Organizational Optimization: Restructure the IT department to clarify roles and eliminate ambiguity, shifting the focus from simple task throughput to long-term business value.
- Enterprise Reliability: Drive operational excellence by enhancing infrastructure stability, cloud networking, and security while streamlining the application portfolio.
- ERP Delivery: Lead the high-stakes implementation of the ERP system, managing complex resource planning and dependencies to meet the July 2026 deadline.
- AI & Data Innovation: Advance enterprise data platforms and analytics while establishing the necessary governance and guardrails for AI-driven capabilities.
- Cultural Leadership: Foster a disciplined, innovation-focused team culture and improve executive visibility through streamlined reporting and communication cadences.
Minimum Qualifications
- Executive Leadership: Proven experience as a CIO and senior IT leader managing large-scale enterprise IT transformations.
- Strategic Execution: Demonstrated success in developing and building business-aligned IT strategies and roadmaps.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in leveraging analytics, AI, and enterprise systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Costpoint, Workday, Hyperion).
- Operational Balance: Experience balancing immediate operational needs with long-term innovation and foundational changes.
- Strategic Governance & Execution: Exceptional ability to manage complex interdependencies and capacity constraints through robust governance, balancing immediate operational wins with long-term value creation.
- Collaborative Leadership: Strong communication and decision-making skills that bridge the gap between technical teams and executive leadership to drive disciplined, results-oriented outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Mission-Critical Delivery: Experience with managing high-stakes programs in deadline-driven environments. (e.g. ERP implementation)
- Portfolio Tools: Familiarity with value-based demand intake systems (e.g., ServiceNow) for portfolio prioritization.
- Governance Standards: Deep knowledge of IT standards, enterprise architecture and application rationalization.
- Security Clearance: Current security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
- The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
