You will join Cook & Boardman’s Service Delivery organization, participating in the successful delivery of IT Services to the organization. As a Systems Engineer you will be focused on all systems and services related to the organization’s IT infrastructure. Your primary responsibilities will encompass recurring tasks from the operational calendar, maintenance tasks, Service Desk requests, and project tasks.
Essential Functions
- Recurring Tasks: Create, maintain, and execute the day-to-day tasks of IT systems.
- Maintenance Tasks: Participate during recurring maintenance windows as scheduled.
- Service Desk Requests: Troubleshoot and resolve escalated support requests.
- Project Tasks: Participate in IT projects through all phases. Responsible for the on-time execution of project tasks and deliverables.
- Assist with identifying and evaluating solutions, document pros/cons, make recommendations for services and systems.
- Execute tasks related to lifecycle management for services and systems within assigned delivery spectrum.
- Manage baseline configurations for services and systems.
- Monitor and manage service and systems capacity ensuring availability and uptime for the organization.
- Participate in documentation of all IT services and systems.
- Notate and document Service Desk requests as necessary and directed.
- Other and Miscellaneous tasks as necessary
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 3 years of previous experience in a Systems Administrator, infrastructure, or equivalent engineer role
- At least 3 years of experience working in a hub/spoke network or multi environment
- At least 3 years of experience within a structured Service Desk framework
- Intimate knowledge of the OSI model and the relationship between the layers
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities - Demonstrated knowledge and experience managing and working with:
- MS 365 products and services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Intune
- VMWare
- Virtual desktop technologies such as RDS and Azure Virtual Desktop services
- FSLogix Profile technology
- Networking, WAN/LAN, TCP/IP, VPN, SDWAN
- Aruba network switch and access points
- Network access control solutions
- Zscaler or other SASE solutions
- Managing routers, firewalls, switches, and other network devices
- Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and above
- Microsoft Active Directory, Managing GPOs, and DNS
- Supporting Windows 10 and 11 Professional
- Scripting and automation
- Azure infrastructure and networking
- SolarWinds monitoring solutions
- Strong foundation in IT Security principles
- Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and provide exceptional service to our coworkers
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deliverables at one time
- Follow-through and persistence are essential
