Position overview:
We are seeking an experienced Compliance and Controls Senior Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, implementing, and sustaining a risk-based compliance and controls framework, with particular focus on NERC, FERC, and security control requirements across MN8’s operational assets. Key responsibilities include developing compliance policies, tracking compliance performance, vendor management including outsourced compliance activities, performing access management functions, programming firewalls, monitoring security controls and facilitating compliance and security audits.
As the Compliance & Controls Analyst, you will:
· Policy Development: Draft, maintain, and periodically review compliance and security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure alignment with internal controls, company goals and regulatory requirements.
· Compliance Management: Ensure on going compliance with regulatory requirements, including FERC and NERC, by conducting gap assessments, coordinating remediation efforts, and tracking corrective actions to completion.
· Compliance and Controls Administration: Administer and monitor compliance and security controls including electronic access management and configuration change management while ensuring timely service delivery, consistency, and audit readiness.
· Awareness Campaigns Planning and Execution: Develop and deliver compliance and security awareness and training to technical, operational, and corporate stakeholders.
· Facilitate Compliance and Security Audits: Coordinate and support internal and external compliance and security audits, including security assessments, mitigation plans, and post-audit remediation tracking.
· Controls: Implement and sustain controls including electronic and physical access management, asset management and change management.
· Tools: Oversee compliance and controls tools to ensure operational effectiveness, data integrity, and availability, and escalate issues as necessary.
· Change Management: Champion change management and maintain a change management system to facilitate controls and compliance.
· Reports: Conduct analysis into controls performance across field assets and perform routine performance reporting.
Our ideal candidate will have:
· Bachelor’s degree related to technology, compliance or utility operations.
· 5+ years of experience in compliance or security with a regulated organization (electric sector experience preferred).
· Knowledge of current compliance and security vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
· Knowledge of audit principles.
· Proficiency with Microsoft tools.
· Proficient with firewall programming and management.
· Understanding of security and compliance management controls.
· Network operations familiarity including operational technologies.
· Proficient with internal controls and monitoring/evaluation principles.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve organizational goals.
· Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
