Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Cybersecurity Epic Owner to lead the strategy, definition, and delivery of enterprise Identity & Access Management (IAM) capabilities within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment. This role owns the end-to-end lifecycle of IAM Epics spanning Privileged Access Management (PAM), Directory Services (Active Directory / eDirectory), Enterprise Access Management (EAM), and Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM). The ideal candidate blends deep IAM domain expertise, strong product thinking, and disciplined SAFe execution, ensuring solutions deliver measurable business value, reduce security risk, and scale across the enterprise.
- Translate business priorities and cybersecurity risk drivers into SAFe Epics and Lean Business Cases aligned to enterprise strategy.
- Own and drive end-to-end delivery of strategic Epics, advising on prioritization and continued investment.
- Partner across business, technology, and security stakeholders, influencing without authority to align requirements and outcomes.
- Communicate Epic intent, progress, and value clearly to Domain Leaders, Directors, Executive, SVP, and C-suite leadership.
- Lead cross-functional teams, vendors, and partners to deliver outcomes on time and within scope.
- Drive decision-making, resolve dependencies, and maintain alignment across workstreams.
- Proactively manage Epic health, risks, and dependencies, ensuring transparency and course correction.
- Build strong alliances across the enterprise to accelerate delivery and adoption.
- Apply deep understanding of functional capabilities, industry practices, and business impact (revenue, cost, and risk).
- Rapidly develop domain expertise in evolving cybersecurity and IAM areas.
- Provide thought leadership on technology choices and contribute to the Cybersecurity Portfolio strategy.
Experience:
- Must have a minimum 3 years’ experience solving complex problems and driving multiple stakeholders towards implementable solutions; prefer 5 years of experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience developing communication strategies for buy-in and acceptance preferred; prefer 5 years of experience
- Minimum 3 years working in a cross-functional environment within technology domain; prefer 5 years of experience
- 2 years or more of experience in Cybersecurity Identity and Access Management domain preferred
- Experience and solid knowledge of strategic and financial analysis and issues/risk management and project change requests.
- Ability to influence diverse customer groups to align on strategic goals and decisions. (highly desired)
- Project/Program management experience, managing all phases mid to large-scale programs, with special emphasis on complex business change required.
- Prefer at least 1 year working in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment.
- Prefer previous experience working as an Epic Owner within SAFe.
- Consulting experience (highly desired)
Skills:
- 1+ years working experience in JIRA as it relates to metrics, dashboards etc. (highly desired)
- Prefer 2+ years working experience in a Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tool (Jira Align, Clarity, Planview etc.)
- Built and maintained product roadmaps (highly desired)
- Built and maintained communication strategy for diverse user group (highly desired)
- Must have the ability to assume a high-level responsibility and to provide direction in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment
- Ability to quickly ramp up when placed in new areas business (proactively engage all levels the organization to expand functional understanding.
· Proficiency in Agile methodologies, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
· Own IAM Epics from idea inception through MVP definition, implementation, and value realization in alignment with SAFe LPM and ART execution.
· Partner with Business Owners, Architects, Cybersecurity Leaders, and Product Management to define Epic hypotheses, success metrics, and WSJF prioritization.
· Decompose Epics into Features and Enablers, ensuring clarity, sequencing, and alignment to ART roadmaps.
· Drive PI Planning readiness, clarify dependencies, and support teams during execution.
· Track and communicate Epic progress, risks, and outcomes via Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) forums.
· Strong hands-on knowledge of:
- Privileged Access Management (PAM)
- Directory services (AD, eDirectory, LDAP)
- Workforce/Enterprise IAM
- CIAM platforms and patterns
· Lead Epics across the following IAM domains:
o Privileged Access Management (PAM): Vaulting, session management, least privilege, service accounts, privileged lifecycle automation.
o Directory Services – Active Directory, eDirectory, LDAP, directory modernization and integrations.
o Enterprise IAM (Workforce IAM): Authentication, Authorization, SSO, MFA, RBAC/ABAC, lifecycle provisioning.
o Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM): customer authentication, identity federation, consent, privacy, and scalable customer login experiences.
· Experience with IAM tools such as CyberArk, BeyondTrust, Ping, Azure AD, SailPoint, or similar
· Experience in cloud-based IAM (AWS, Azure, hybrid environments)
· Ensure IAM solutions align with Zero Trust, least privilege, and identity-first security principles.
· Partner with Architecture to ensure designs are secure, scalable, and compliant.
· Exceptional attention to detail, with strong documentation skills.
· Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to driving tasks to completion.
- Ability to connect how and programs integrate with company objectives.
- Experience solving complex problems (Business and Technical) and identifying options for solutions.
- Experience supporting (or leading) Executive-level communication (e.g. project status updates, presentations requesting approval,
Multiyear Roadmaps, Financial health etc.)
- Ability to digest significant amount of detail and summarize relevant information for the appropriate stakeholder (e.g., Managers, Directors, VPs, etc.)
- Experience with or thorough understanding the process for gathering business requirements for an implementation project.
- Understands how to translate business needs into releases that strategically deliver business value.
- Ability to translate business process into strategy and drive innovation that builds capabilities.
- Understands how to read market landscape and implement best practices to remain competitive.
- Ability to lead discussions with stakeholders from multiple backgrounds who have conflicting priorities; act as mediator if Teams are not aligned and drive towards a recommendation or solution.
· Ability to use critical thinking to identify, analyze and interpret trends and patterns in complex data sets to solve problems, and develop recommendations based on findings.
- Strong oral communication and presentation delivery skills when facilitating discussions at the Executive level.
