Akkodis is seeking a
Snowflake Architect for a
Contract with a client in
Minneapolis, MN/ Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate required hands‑on Snowflake architecture expertise while guiding on‑prem Cloudera migrations and implementing governance, performance tuning, and automation across cloud environments.
Rate Range: $55/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Snowflake Architect Job Responsibilities Include
- Design and implement scalable data lake architectures using Snowflake and Databricks, ensuring efficient data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
- Lead and guide the migration of on‑prem Cloudera environments to Azure cloud services, including Synapse, Databricks, and Snowflake.
- Manage data governance, security, and quality frameworks across cloud platforms while implementing performance tuning, automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Administer, monitor, and optimize Cloudera Hadoop clusters (HDFS, YARN, Hive, Spark) to ensure high availability, performance, and operational reliability.
- Troubleshoot Linux, network, and cluster‑level issues while supporting users in debugging and optimizing Hive, Spark, and Python workloads.
- Implement enterprise security solutions including Kerberos, Ranger, Atlas, HashiCorp Vault, and CyberArk, and maintain documentation and vendor collaboration for upgrades and compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- 8–12 years of overall experience, with at least 5+ years in Snowflake, Cloud Data Engineering, or Data Lake Architecture.
- Proven hands‑on experience migrating on‑prem Hadoop/Cloudera environments to Azure cloud (Snowflake, Synapse, Databricks).
- Strong expertise in performance tuning, data governance, and cloud security frameworks across enterprise data platforms.

Pay Details: $55.00 to $60.00 per hour
