Job Description
Under limited supervision, configure, manage, and administer moderately complex computer systems, networks and storage environments; gather and interprets technical/ functional specifications and participate in design reviews to identify potential mitigation strategies for technical risks identified. This support ranges from solving user's computer problems to setting up and maintaining the enterprise systems, architecture and infrastructure as a whole.
Responsibilities
Primary
- Maintaining system software including upgrades, service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
- Install, and maintain Windows Server 2012R2 - 2019, IIS, SQL, Active Directory, VMware, Hyper-V, Office365, Exchange, and related Microsoft technologies.
- Implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team.
- Configure and administer system & application security and access controls utilizing Microsoft & Azure Active Directory.
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructures.
- Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning to proactively ensure the highest levels of system, and infrastructure availability and reliability.
- Monitor and validate application performance including the identification of possible solutions to improve systems & application performance.
- Monitor systems integration and process automation.
- Participate in defining and maintaining, backup and redundancy strategies ( BCP, DR & CR ).
- Manage and maintain backup and recovery processes.
- Participate in the design of information and technical operational support systems.
- Assist end-users with endpoint administration and troubleshooting.
- Network switch and firewall administration.
- Prepare and maintain systems documentation of infrastructure, network and cabling configurations and layouts.

- Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
Secondary
- Installing and configuring network equipment to update or fix hardware and/or software issues.
- Monitoring network performance for application systems and networks.
- Provide technical support of CAN, WAN, LAN environments including planning, implementation/expansion, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Design, deploy and administer the wireless infrastructure and supporting systems.
- Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, and latency) and test for weaknesses.
- Administrating various devices and services [website] routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, Wi-Fi).
- Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
- Work with users and other personnel for problem resolution.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years system administration experience in a Windows based environment.
- Recognized certifications a plus - ie. CompTia, Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE), Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) preferred with specializations in Windows Server, SQL Server, and Server Virtualization.
- Hands-on experience with systems monitoring, systems and network diagnostics and analytics tools
- University degree in Computer Science or a related subject and/or equivalent experience
Salary/ Rate: $45-55/hour (depends on experience level). This is a contract to hire position with candidates expected to work 40 hours/ week.
