FedTech is an innovation-services firm and accelerator dedicated to commercializing breakthrough technologies and building dual-use ventures. As we expand our platform, we are launching a new commercial innovation practice and seeking a hands-on, entrepreneurial leader to help build, deliver, and scale this initiative in close partnership with senior leadership.

What You’ll Do
As the Principal, Corporate Innovation, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering FedTech’s commercial innovation engagements. This is a builder-operator role for someone who thrives in client-facing environments and enjoys turning strategy into execution. You’ll collaborate closely with FedTech’s senior leadership to shape new offerings, grow revenue, integrate service acquisitions, and build a high-performing, client-centric team.
Typical Responsibilities Include
- Innovation & Practice Development
- Build service offerings for the commercial market (e.g., tech scouting, venture creation, innovation training, product development, commercialization strategy).
- Pilot new offerings with clients and iterate based on market feedback.
- Develop repeatable tools, frameworks, and playbooks that improve delivery quality and scalability.
- Recruit and onboard new team members as the practice grows.
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and capability building.
- Client Engagement Leadership
- Lead corporate innovation engagements end-to-end, including workshops, innovation sprints, venture design projects, commercialization strategy efforts, and tech scouting initiatives.
- Translate client challenges into structured workplans and actionable innovation roadmaps.
- Facilitate executive sessions and working teams to drive alignment and measurable outcomes.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and with strong client satisfaction.
- Growth & Business Development
- Partner with the growth team on proposals, pitches, and solution design.
- Contribute to pipeline development through relationship building and thought partnership.
- Help convert pilot engagements into longer-term partnerships.
- Own revenue targets through direct engagement leadership and account expansion.
Successful Candidates Will Have The Following Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in consulting, innovation strategy, venture building, commercialization
- Demonstrated experience leading client engagements with direct involvement in delivery.
- Strong understanding of corporate innovation operating models and common enterprise challenges.
- Experience supporting business development efforts (proposal development, solution design, client expansion).
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and building new capabilities within a growing organization.
- Experience managing small to mid-sized teams.
- Strong facilitation and executive communication skills.
- Passion for applied technology, innovation ecosystems, and dual-use commercialization.
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree a plus.

Compensation
- Base salary range: $130-160k
- The salary range listed for this position is based on market data and internal compensation structure. The final compensation package will be determined based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills and education. This range is not a guarantee of compensation, and offers may fall outside this range in exceptional cases.
- In addition to a competitive base salary, compensation includes significant upside bonus and equity.

Location: This role offers flexible work options. It can be set up as a hybrid work arrangement at our Arlington, VA (HQ) or Boston, MA offices or fully remote for candidates based in the United States.
Travel: Willingness and ability to travel up to 15–20% as needed
