As Senior Privacy Counsel you will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and experienced team on privacy issues impacting Apple’s business and products globally. You will work directly with business and engineering teams to design innovative privacy solutions for products as well as across the legal department on Apple activities and regulatory issues.
Description
Apple’s Privacy Legal Team is seeking a Senior Privacy Counsel to lead a team of attorneys supporting Apple’s privacy compliance. You will be responsible for advising and providing support on privacy related topics for Apple’s various products and services and working alongside legal, engineering and business teams. This role will be on the Privacy Legal team that supports teams working on Apple’s Wallet, Payments & Commerce initiatives, our Retail and Online Stores, and AppleCare efforts and more. You will provide strategic advice on emerging privacy laws, trends and issues. You will also lead and mentor a highly skilled team of lawyers, promoting the Legal department’s culture of high-performance and collaboration. You will work closely with incredible colleagues across the company and have opportunities to engage with the senior leadership of the company.
Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of comprehensive privacy laws, and regulatory and other guidance and standards.
- Deep understanding of US state and federal sector-specific privacy laws.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to advise and build relationships with senior leaders, teammates, and cross-functional colleagues.
- Ability to clearly organize and inform through excellent written and verbal communications.
- Experience quickly issue-spotting, analyzing, and clearly communicating privacy advice on complex legal issues.
- Strong analytical capability with attention to detail.
- 8+ years professional legal experience advising on privacy laws.
- At least 4+ years experience leading and managing high-performing legal team.
- JD or equivalent and admission to at least one US state bar.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience providing strategic and practical advice to product, business, and engineering teams.
- Experience drafting and negotiating privacy related contracts.
- Experience advising on regulatory compliance and inquiries.
- Ability to lead, take action, and provide direction in the face of ambiguity.
- Ability to get results in diverse, fast paced environments.
- Ability to partner at all levels of the organization
- Excellent academic credentials.
- In-house experience.
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $236,800 and $355,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
