Mid-Level Network Administrator
Location: Onsite in Secaucus, NJ
Duration: Contract-to-Hire
Position Summary
The Mid-Level Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining, monitoring, and optimizing the organization’s network infrastructure. This role supports daily network operations, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and security across both on-premises and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with enterprise networking technologies and a strong foundation in network security and systems support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot outages, and implement patches, upgrades, and enhancements
- Configure and support LAN/WAN environments, VPNs, and core network services such as DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory
- Lead hands-on network deployments, implementations, and configuration changes
- Maintain accurate network documentation, topology diagrams, and change management records
- Implement and enforce network security policies; respond to security incidents as needed
- Support security platforms and tools including Forcepoint, Secure Access, Globalscape, and CrowdStrike
- Provide support for Windows Server and desktop environments
- Support Microsoft 365 and cloud environments (Azure and/or AWS)
- Serve as Tier 2/3 escalation point for complex technical issues
- Participate in on-call rotation, including off-hours and weekend support as required
Required Skills & Experience
- 3–5+ years of hands-on network administration experience
- Strong understanding of routing and switching protocols (VLANs, OSPF, BGP)
- Experience with Cisco networking equipment and firewall technologies
- Solid knowledge of network security principles and tools
- Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Excellent documentation and communication abilities
