Position Objective
To deploy, configure, maintain, and monitor all active network equipment to ensure smooth network operation with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and configure computer networks and systems.
- Maintain and monitor the District’s computer networks to ensure optimal performance and resolve issues as they arise.
- Set up new networks and connect them to existing networks using routing devices to create internetworks.
- Maintain network servers including file servers, VPN gateways, and intrusion detection systems.
- Configure UCP communications to enable users to exchange files and electronic mail with remote machines.
- Support and administer third-party applications.
- Set up user accounts, permissions, and passwords, and onboard users to the network as needed.
- Assist with administration of desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, surveillance cameras, radios, smartphones, tablets, and other devices.
- Analyze and monitor server security and implement patches and fixes to address potential security vulnerabilities.
- Test product releases to minimize user impact and ensure compatibility.
- Research and make recommendations related to server system administration.
- Implement and manage disaster recovery and backup processes.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to communicate the status of projects, activities, and achievements.
- Develop and maintain an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies/procedures.
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams and users.
- Train Computer Technicians on network configuration and infrastructure as needed.
- Perform Computer Technician duties as directed.
- Provide second-tier technical support when requested.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or Network Administration (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Certification in disciplines such as Cisco CCNA, Juniper, CompTIA Network+, or Microsoft certifications in Windows Server and Windows Client (strongly preferred).
- Minimum of two (2) years of network administration experience, including networking, routing, and switching.
- Experience with firewalls, Internet VPNs, remote implementation, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.
- Proficiency with scripting languages.
- Working knowledge of various software applications and online storage and productivity tools.
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities with keen attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
- Ability to travel efficiently between work locations.
