A mission-focused federal contractor supporting national security and defense operations is seeking a Senior Network Administrator to join a high-visibility enterprise environment in Washington, DC. This organization delivers advanced technology solutions across cybersecurity, enterprise IT, systems engineering, AI-driven analytics, and mission operations. This position is onsite and requires an active DoD Secret clearance. The team is prepared to hire immediately for the right candidate.
Required Certifications (Must Be Active)
- CompTIA Security+ or CCNP Security
- CCNA

Key Responsibilities
- Monitor enterprise network infrastructure for alarms, outages, and performance degradation
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, routing, switching, and transmission issues
- Support enterprise-level routers and switches
- Escalate incidents as appropriate and coordinate with vendors during outages
- Process Authorized Service Interruptions (ASI) as directed
- Maintain required security posture across network devices in compliance with DoD and local command mandates (STIGs, IOS upgrades, patching, configuration hardening)
- Support COMSEC management processes and encryption devices at network points of presence
- Participate in rotating on-call schedule
Required Experience
- Minimum 9 years of network experience diagnosing and resolving complex network issues
- Minimum 8 years of senior-level LAN switching experience, including:
- VLANs, VTP, Port Security, Spanning Tree
- Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching configurations
- Minimum 8 years of senior-level experience with Layer 3 routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, IS-IS, etc.)
- Minimum 8 years of L1/L2 troubleshooting in classified and unclassified environments
- Experience programming, maintaining, and troubleshooting encryption devices using DoD management tools (e.g., GEM-X)
- Experience with DoD network and application security hardening requirements
Candidates must meet the required years of experience and certification criteria to be considered.
Preferred Experience
- Cisco ISE and Cisco DNA
- Prior experience supporting Pentagon or Air Force network environments
- Familiarity with Air Force Network (AFNet) operations
