We are looking for an experienced In-House Counsel to join our team in Irvine, California. This role offers the opportunity to work with a global organization, addressing legal matters across domestic and international operations. The position emphasizes collaboration with executive leaders daily. Your expertise will contribute to impactful initiatives in e-recycling and sustainability.
This role is onsite daily in Irvine (near the Spectrum). Please do not apply if you are looking for remote or hybrid work, or would need to relocate to Irvine first.
Responsibilities:
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including technology agreements such as SaaS, cybersecurity, and data privacy contracts.
• Provide guidance on data privacy regulations and ensure compliance across various global divisions.
• Support employment and HR-related legal matters, offering counsel on policies and procedures.
• Manage relationships with outside counsel and key stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and other departments to address legal needs and strategic initiatives.
• Offer solutions for complex legal issues while maintaining a balance between business priorities and compliance.
• Participate in occasional calls with international teams and adapt to business needs as required.
Profile that would be a fit:
- 8+ years of experience
- Someone who can operate autonomously, as the legal team sits in Chicago.
- The more in-house experience, the better.
- Someone with an executive presence. This role will sit in the same office as the CEO, CFO, CHRO, and other execs.
This In-House Counsel will be the sole attorney in Irvine. The rest of the legal team sits in a different state. Therefore, if you are looking for regular mentorship / guidance, this may not be the job for you. This company is seeking a confident In-House Counsel who won't need much hand-holding. 8+ years of relevant experience is required.

- Prior in-house experience.
- Experience drafting, redlining, and negotiating and tech agreements such as SaaS, cybersecurity, and data privacy contracts. Prior knowledge of these agreements is a must.
A CA bar is preferred but not required. If not CA, IL or NY are strong seconds.
