Our client, a government agency in the public sector, is seeking a Systems Administrator to join their team. As a Systems Administrator, you will be part of the IT Department supporting enterprise server infrastructure. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, adaptability, and effective communication, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Systems Administrator
Location: Madison, WI - Remote (Wisconsin only). Must reside in WI and come onsite as needed for hardware support while on call.
Duration: 6+ months (highly possible to extend / conversion)
What's the Job?
- Plan, install, and support technical resources for enterprise server infrastructure
- Manage server hardware, operating systems, and system management software
- Oversee data backup, system software, and database management software
- Support applications, storage solutions, and application development tools
- Participate in on-call rotation for Windows and VMware teams, including some weekend maintenance work
What's Needed?
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Windows Server Administration
- At least 5 years experience with Windows patching and patch management tools
- 3 years experience with Group Policy Object (GPO) configuration and administration
- 3 years experience with public cloud infrastructure administration
- 3 years experience with Anti-Virus (AV) tools installation and end client management
Nice To Have
- Experience with CommVault Administration and end client management
- Experience implementing MFA in Windows/VMware platforms
