Position Summary
McCarthy Holdings, Inc. is seeking a skilled and motivated Systems Administrator I to join our Server Operations Team. As a Systems Administrator I, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our IT infrastructure, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of business-critical systems vital to daily operations. The Systems Administrator I must adhere to the company SLA for system uptime and customer response. This position reports to the Systems Team Lead.
Responsibilities
- General level 3 support for help desk and end users in the areas of Server, Storage, AD Account management, Cloud operations and Microsoft 365 Administration.
- Active Directory and Azure AD (Entra ID) basic administration including user/group management.
- Exchange and SharePoint Online administration and support
- Perform routine system maintenance tasks, including software updates, server patch management, vulnerability remediation, system backups and quarterly restore testing.
- Configure, maintain, and optimize servers, both physical and virtual, to support various applications and services. Primarily Windows Server OS.
- OKTA authentication and configuration of new SSO/SAML applications and troubleshooting authentication issues and changes.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively to ensure optimal system uptime.
- Data archival/recovery, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Providing support to various groups for email searches, legal discovery, or legal hold procedures
- Implement security best practices and remediations to protect the infrastructure from potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience as a System Administrator or similar role.
- Strong listening, communication, collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work with a team and individually.
- Strong desire to provide exceptional customer service.
- Driven to evaluate and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
Two years of experience with the following:
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server Operating Systems
- Strong understanding of security best practices.
- Basic experience with writing PowerShell scripts to perform administrative tasks
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD and SSO
- Basic knowledge of Office 365 (account/mailbox creation and troubleshooting)
- Experience with backup software/hardware operation and configuration.
