Akkodis is seeking a
System Administrator for a
Contract with a client in
Plano, TX. This role requires an expert Mainframe z/OS System Programmer with deep experience in LPAR/MIPS management and complex Mainframe environments.
Rate Range: $60/hour to $75/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
System Administrator Job Responsibilities Include
- Manage incidents, service requests, and upgrade activities across Mainframe technologies such as z/OS, JES2/JES3, and associated system tools.
- Install, configure, and support Mainframe LPARs/MIPS environments, including performance tuning, PARMLIB updates, and system IPL operations.
- Execute and support Mainframe backup and tape‑based restore processes while ensuring data integrity across complex environments.
- Lead and support Mainframe migration projects, datacenter relocations, and system design initiatives involving Sysplex, XCF, and Coupling Facility.
- Perform system monitoring and capacity management using tools such as SYSVIEW, Mainview, RMF, and storage systems (DASD, SMS, HSM).
- Collaborate with vendor partners to meet SLAs and continually improve operational procedures, reporting accuracy, and service quality.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 8+ years of hands‑on experience as a Mainframe z/OS System Programmer or System Administrator.
- Proven expertise in Mainframe migrations, LPAR/MIPS management, and z/OS installation/customization activities.
- Strong experience in Mainframe backup and tape‑based restore operations, along with capacity and performance management in large enterprise environments.

Pay Details: $60.00 to $75.00 per hour
